Ah the heady days of summer. Think of August and even here in the UK, you generally summon thoughts of long, lazy, warm, sunny days.
It seems however, that we have been somewhat short changed today. The rain has not ceased for even a few minutes and it is so dark and chilly it feels more like October. What’s worse is that this unsettled weather is here to stay. It is most miserable indeed.
Other than wrapping up in warmer clothes and snuggling on the sofa with my lovely dogs and a good book what else could be done? Hot chocolate seemed essential.
Inspired by my recent visit to The Pigs in Norfolk, which by the way was outstanding, I decided to take the hot chocolate one step further and add peanut butter.
Wherever they meet up, chocolate and nuts get along famously so this couldn’t be anything other than good, could it?
It beats Nutella hot chocolate hands down. This is one giant hug in a mug. In fact peanut butter hot chocolate is like drinking a hot Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup – you can thank me later. Served in espresso cups and topped with fresh whipped cream and salted roasted peanuts, this is so good it could pass as dessert.
